How to make a head mold (Part IV). Charming Tales
We finally arrived at the part where you really begin to create our papier mache head.
Why with paper mache? simply because it is one of the most economical methods exist to model heads.
We have on hand: white paper napkins, wrapping paper or heavy pack, a plastic dish or similar container, glue to paper (also called wall paper paste) and our plaster cast.
1. Sufficient mixing wallpaper glue in a bowl with water, the mixture should have a consistency of thick cream.
2. Napkins cut into small pieces.
3. We spent slightly these strips in wallpaper glue and little by little we put into our mold, slightly overlapping each other.
4. Cut, but not to hand scissors, paper for packing into small pieces and put them in a container with water to soften a bit.
5. When well soaked, squeeze out excess water and we had also the tail to paper and then to our mold, overlapping strips.
be needed about 5 or 6 layers so that our head acquires the proper thickness and wait for them all to dry before finally cast them out.
